| Taxonomy notes | The Eurasiatic counterpart, P. trémula L., has irregularly sinuate-dentate, obtuse or somewhat acute leaves, not noticeably overlapping; its range is marked with a broken line on the circumpolar map. Hybrids of P. tremuloides with P. balsamifera occur, but are rare (1 clump occurs at Lignite; also at Mission Bluff, Eagle). |
