Description | Shrub at least 3 meters tall; twigs reddish-brown, shiny, pubescent when young, glabrescent in age; leaves ovate to obovate, acute, often cordate at base, glandular- serrate along entire margin, glabrous, paler beneath; young, undeveloped leaves reddish; catkins sessile; bracts dark brown, somewhat acute, long-hairy; capsules glabrous, lanceolate when: young, long-pedicellated, with style about 1 mm long. | ||
Ecology | Along streams, in forests, at low altitudes. Described from Turkey Creek, Colo- rado. |
