DescriptionPlant with filiform rootstock forming loose clumps; basal leaves linear to ob- anceolate, obtuse, fleshy, dilated at base into broad hyaline sheath; stems 1-2- lowered (rarely 3-flowered); stem leaves 2, ovate, opposite; sepals orbiculate; vetals obovate-emarginate, deeply purple-colored.
EcologyStony slopes and scree slopes in the mountains, to at least 2,000 meters.
