DescriptionRhizome filiform, branched, more or less horizontal; flowering stems erect, thin, usually branched, retrorsely puberulent; leaves ovate to oblong or lanceolate, obtuse or somewhat acute, glabrous or puberulent, ciliated, pellucid-punctate; bractlets small, blunt or somewhat acute; sepals glabrous, ovate or oblong, obtuse, scarious- margined; petals 2-3 times as long as sepals; filaments pubescent at base; capsule ovate, twice as long as sepals.
EcologyWoods, thickets, dry meadows; common in many places; to at least 600 meters in McKinley Park. Described from Siberia.
