DescriptionStem 5-20 cm tall or sometimes taller, short-pubescent; basal leaves oblanceo- late or oblong spatulate, pubescent, with small, light-colored hairs, especially in margin; stem leaves in 1 to 2 pairs, oblong, shorter than basal leaves; flowers erect, single or 2-3 together; calyx longer than broad, campanulate, densely viscid- pubescent, inflated in age, in var. brachycalyx (Raup) Hult. (M. brachycalyx Raup) about as long as broad or broader; petals white, one-third longer than calyx; seeds with thin wing.
EcologyDry places. Described from Greenland.
