DescriptionStout submerged rhizome; submerged, basal leaves thin; floating leaves long- petiolated; petioles terete; sepals 7-9, yellow; petals narrowly cuneate, hidden by stamens; anthers reddish; fruit ovoid to subglobose.
EcologyPonds and slow streams. More common than indicated by map; probably com- mon along the Yukon River and its tributaries.
UsesThe rhizome can be eaten boiled or roasted.
