Description | Stems up to 2 meters tall, coarse and glabrous, from woody, fibrous caudex; leaves palmatifid; segments incised and toothed, acute; racemes many-flowered, long, glabrous or somewhat pubescent; lower bracts leaflike, reduced upward; flowers dark violet-purple; spur 8-10 mm long; follicles glabrous or sometimes puberulent, especially when young. | ||
