DescriptionGlabrous; stem creeping in mud or floating; leaves small, 3-5-lobed, in submerged specimens sometimes divided and again parted; peduncles arched; sepals and petals 3 (—4); sepals glabrous; petals about 4 mm long, with short claw; fruiting head ovate; fruits with short, straight beak, hooked in apex.
EcologyWet meadows, ponds, wet tundra, snow beds.
