DescriptionTall, sparsely hirsute; similar to R. acris, but with subterranean rhizomes; leaves 3-parted, the parts divided and lobed, the ultimate lobes acute; pedicels appressed- pubescent; flowers large; sepals pubescent; petals yellow, twice as long as sepals; achenes glabrous, with very short, falcate beak.
EcologyMeadows. R. grandis described from Rikushu Province, Honshu, var. austro- kurilensis from the southern Kuriles.
