Description | Small, glabrous plant, lacking stem; pedicels and leaves from thick, short, verti- cal caudex; basal leaves thick, orbicular-elliptic to oblong, crenate at apex or sub- entire; sepals 5, thick, greenish to purplish-black, persistent in fruit; petals oblan- ceolate, yellow; fruiting head hemispherical; achenes with short, somewhat hooked beak. | ||
