DescriptionStems 1 or several, sometimes very short at flowering time, from thick root; leaves oblong-lanceolate to linear, entire or somewhat dentate, densely pubescent from 2- parted hairs; sepals ovate, narrowly scarious-margined; petals with claw about as long as sepals, and obovate blade, purplish or, rarely, yellowish (var. ochroleticum Tolm., not seen in Alaska); siliques linear, extending above late flowers; style 1-3 mm long.
EcologyStony places on tundra; in the mountains to at least 2,000 meters. Described from “Northwest coast” (of America).
