Description | Stem single, at top of short caudex; basal leaves rhomboid to ovate, serrate- crenate, with broad petiole, subcoriaceous, densely pubescent on both sides, with short, septate hairs, and longer hairs in margin; stem pubescent, leafless; bracts linear, calyx lobes ovate, nearly glabrous, in age reflexed; petals white, nearly twice as long as calyx lobes; filaments clavate; follicles purplish, ovate, with fairly long style. | ||
Ecology | Dry places; to at least 2,300 meters in the St. Elias Range. Described from “between the Mackenzie River and the Coppermine River.” |
