DescriptionStems from stout, brown rootstock; basal leaves acutely 3-5-lobed, cordate, hirsute with scattered coarse hairs above, glabrous beneath; stem glandular-pubes- cent; cauline leaves similar to basal leaves; petals white, linear-subulate, 2 to 3 times as long as calyx lobes; carpels abruptly acute, the larger about twice as long as the smaller when ripe.
EcologyMoist, shady places, woods. Described from the Rocky Mountains, near the source of the Columbia and Portage Rivers.
