Description | Stems from stout, brown rootstock; basal leaves acutely 3-5-lobed, cordate, hirsute with scattered coarse hairs above, glabrous beneath; stem glandular-pubes- cent; cauline leaves similar to basal leaves; petals white, linear-subulate, 2 to 3 times as long as calyx lobes; carpels abruptly acute, the larger about twice as long as the smaller when ripe. |
Ecology | Moist, shady places, woods. Described from the Rocky Mountains, near the source of the Columbia and Portage Rivers. |
