Taxonomy notes | Specimens apparently transitional to var. montanénsis (Fern. & Rydb.) Hitchc. (P. montanensis Fern. & Rydb.) occur, with stem leaves not clasping, short petals, and staminodia with less numerous cilia. Var. montanensis, a very doubtful taxon, occurs from Alberta to Montana. Circumpolar map indicates range of entire species complex. |
