DescriptionShrub with erect to spreading branches; young stems covered with bristly prickles and weak thorns; leaves cordate, 3-5 parted, the parts lobate and serrate, or double crenate-dentate; racemes spreading or drooping, glandular-bristly; petals pinkish, cuneate-flabellate; fruit dark purple, stipitate, glandular, somewhat palatable.
EcologyMoist woods, along streams.
