Description | Shrub or small tree, with several, somewhat thorny stems; young twigs pubes- cent; leaves ovate to ovate-lanceolate, mostly acute, serrate and often with 3 shal- low lobes, glabrous or sparsely pubescent and dark green above, pale and more or less pubescent or tomentose beneath; inflorescence corymbose, few-flowered; calyx lobes lanceolate-triangular; petals white or pink, broadly obovate; stamens about 20; fruit obovate, 3—4-chambered, purplish, containing pectin. | ||
