Description | Leaves and flowering stems from thin, creeping and branching rootstock; leaves digitately 5-foliate, leaflets obovate, double-serrate-dentate; petioles with brownish, entire stipules at base; flowers solitary; sepals oblong-lanceolate, acute or dentate at tip; petals white, as long as sepals or somewhat longer; fruit red, juicy, palatable. | ||
Ecology | Moist woods. Described from northwestern North America. | ||
Uses | The fruit makes an excellent jam, but the plant rarely occurs in large quantities. |
