Description | Stems branched above, from thick caudex, covered with remains of petioles; basal leaves cordate in outline, 3-foliate; leaflets sessile; obovate with cuneate base and 3-5 rounded teeth on each side, spreading, soft-pubescent on both sides; flow- ers 20-30 mm in diameter; bractlets ovate, somewhat acute, as long as the ovate calyx lobes or somewhat shorter; calyx in fruit about double its earlier size; petals large, obcordate, deeply emarginate, clear yellow; style nearly apical, only slightly thicker at base. | ||
Ecology | Grassy slopes. Described from the Aleutian Islands (where it almost certainly does not occur). Total range uncertain because of closely related but taxonomically unclear species. |
