DescriptionStems weak, slender, from branching, delicate, subterranean rhizome; stipules triangular-ovate, clasping, connate, glabrous or ciliate; leaves with 7-17 oblong- obovate to obovate-cuneate, retuse, more or less crowded leaflets; racemes few- flowered; calyx strigillose, with black or white hairs and triangular-subulate to tri- angular teeth; petals lilac-purple; pod sessile, lanceolate-oblong when young, be- coming strongly inflated and papery-membranous in age.
EcologySalt marshes along coast, gravel and sandy soil inland.
