Description | Stems several, stout, ascending from woody taproot; stipules scarious, clasping, connate; leaflets 9-23, narrowly oblong to oblong-ovate, strigillose, with hairs forked into 2 horizontal branches; flowers white or pale purplish to purple; calyx teeth 1.4—4.2 mm long, white to blackish, strigillose; banner longer than wings, slightly reflexed; pod sessile, erect, membranaceous, thick and broad, strigillose. | ||
Ecology | Dry slopes, rocky places, riverbanks. A. adsurgens described from Transbaikalia and Mongolia, subsp. robustior from the Columbia River. | ||
