DescriptionStems several, erect or ascending, from thick woody taproot; stipules lanceolate, the lowest papery, brown, clasping, connate, forming subcylindric sheath; leaves with 11-21 leaflets, more or less crowded, linear-oblong to lanceolate, acute to obtuse; racemes many-flowered; calyx strigillose, with black or white hairs and linear to subulate teeth; petals white to cream-colored, or with tip of keel lilac; pod pendulous, stipitate, oblong-elliptic, strongly compressed, glabrous or strigillose.
EcologyGravel bars, shores. Described from the banks of the Missouri River.
