| Description | Stems from a thick, long, light-brown, scaly caudex; basal leaves appressed- pubescent, long-petiolated, 3 to 5 times cleft nearly to base into laciniate parts; up- per stem leaves sessile; flowers 3-5, short-pedicellated, usually not overtopping leaves; sepals lanceolate-ovate, aristate, covered by long, villous or glandular-villous hairs; petals ciliate at base, rose or violet, rarely white, twice as long as sepals; fila- ments sparsely long-haired at base; carpels and base of style column pubescent. | ||
