DescriptionPlant small, usually less than 10 cm tall; stem slender, terete, pilose, much branched, with small turions at base; leaves glabrous, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, obtuse to somewhat acute, in small specimens lacking lateral nerves, with few teeth; petioles winged; flowers white to pink; pods glabrous or sparsely white-pubescent; seeds papillose.
EcologyMoist places. Most specimens belong to var. Macounii Trel., with simple stem. E. leptocarpum described from Oregon, var. Macounii from Lake Athabasca.
