DescriptionSaprophyte with fleshy, slender, unbranched stem, lacking chlorophyll, yellow- ish-white or pinkish, drying black; stems clustered with scales rather than leaves; flowers in elongated raceme.
EcologyWoods. M. hypopitys described from Sweden, England, Germany, and Canada.
