DescriptionDepressed, evergreen dwarf shrub, forming mats, often covering stones; leaves opposite, elliptical, coriaceous, with reflexed margin, whitish beneath; pedicels and calyx dark purple; flowers small, pink, in few-flowered clusters; style short.
EcologyIn the mountains to at least 2,000 meters; prefers acid soil. Described from the European Alps.
