DescriptionVery similar to V. ovalifolium, but taller and with larger leaves, glandular-serru- lated in lower half and very sparsely glandular along median vein below; pedicels longer, straight, thickened toward apex; style usually exserted.
EcologyWoods. Described from the Cascade Mountains of Oregon to Alaska.
UsesThe berry, edible and juicy, has a very good flavor, but is said to be more sour than that of V. ovalifolium.
