Description | Stem filiform, prostrate, rooting; young shoots glabrous; leaves 4-5 mm long, triangular-ovate, dark green above, glaucous below, strongly revolute in margin; pedicels and calyx glabrous; bracts mostly below middle of scape; flowers mostly single, deep pink; filaments often pubescent on outside; fruit red, 5-10 mm in diameter. |
Ecology | Peat bogs; in McKinley Park to 1,200 meters. Described from European Russia, Transbaikalia, and Alaska. |
Uses | The fruit is edible and makes a tasty jam. |
