DescriptionGlabrous; stem usually branched from base, each branch ending with single long- peduncled- flower; rosette leaves oblong-oblanceolate, blunt; stem leaves opposite, in 1-4 pairs, oblong-elliptic, the upper more acute; flowers with 4-5 parts; calyx cleft nearly to base into 1 short ovate-lanceolate lobe, the rest longer, acute, lanceo- late; corolla 6-10 mm long, in fruiting stage longer, with acute or obtuse lobes.
EcologyMeadows on tundra or in the mountains, to at least 1,200 meters. Described from Iceland.
