DescriptionStems several, from thick caudex, unbranched, villous-pubescent above; basal leaves lacking; stem leaves few, sessile, divaricate-laciniate with acute lobes; in- florescence spikelike, interrupted below; bracts leaflike, villous, pink; flowers sessile; calyx lobes linear; corolla red, the upper lip erenate in apex, the lower minute with 3 acute teeth; capsule about 10 mm long, oblong, glabrous, wrinkled, mucro- nate.
EcologyAlpine meadows, to at least 1,200 meters.
