DescriptionStems single or several, from taproot; basal leaves with long, sparsely hairy petioles, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, pinnatifid, the segments broad, toothed; stem leaves short-petiolated or sessile, verticillate; flowers verticillate, the lower remote; upper bracts shorter than flowers; calyx much shorter than tube, with tri- angular, acute teeth; corolla purplish, the tube bent almost at right angles; galea lacking teeth, the lower lip 3-cleft, somewhat longer than galea; 2 filaments pubes- cent; capsule lanceolate, acute, often bent to one side.
EcologyMeadows, rocky slopes, in the mountains to at least 1,300 meters. Described from Siberia, Switzerland, and Austria.
