DescriptionFree-floating; stem about 1 mm thick; leaves much dissected, with nearly terete segments, all with numerous bladders forming small traps for insects; scapes coarse, with 5-6 (or more) flowers; corolla dark yellow, lower lip slightly lobed, with well- developed palate; spur 7-12 mm long, falcate, slender, somewhat acute, directed forward.
EcologyPonds, quiet waters. U. vulgaris described from Europe, subsp. macrorhiza from ‘Canada to Carolina.”
