| Description | Weak plant; stem branched, quadrangular, prostrate or reclining, with down- ward-directed prickles on angles; leaves 6-8 in a whorl, linear-oblanceolate, bristle- tipped, 1-nerved, with backward-directed prickles in margin; pedicels 1-3-flowered, the flowers subtended by leaflike bracts; corolla whitish, with 4 acute, free lobes; fruit with hooked bristles. | ||
