DescriptionStems single, pubescent at nodes, from long, creeping rhizome; leaves glabrous, the basal long-petiolated, entire, elliptic to ovate or subcordate; stem leaves op- posite, shallowly 3-lobed, sessile, or the lower short-petiolated; inflorescence sub- tended by large, 3-lobed bracts, densely capitate in flower, becoming an open, diffuse panicle in fruit; bractlets linear, nearly as long as calyx; flowers 5-8 mm long, white or lilac, narrowly funnelform; calyx bristles plumose in fruit.
EcologyMoist places, in the mountains to at least 1,500 meters.
