DescriptionCaespitose, with taproot and simple or branching caudex; leaves narrowly ob- lanceolate, 2-4 mm broad; heads large, sessile or very nearly so; involucral bracts linear, acuminate, lacking tuft of tangled cilia at apex; ligulae pinkish; disk flowers yellow or pinkish-tipped; achenes loosely hairy.
EcologyAlpine slopes; in Alaska to over 2,000 meters.
