DescriptionStems from creeping rhizome, glandular above; leaves lanceolate, acuminate, remotely toothed to subentire, the upper more or less clasping, the lower soon withering; heads several to numerous; involucral bracts acuminate, glandular, her- baceous; rays purple to violet; achenes sparsely hairy.
EcologyWoods, along streams. Described from mouth of the Smoky River, lat. 56°.
