DescriptionStems hirsute with spreading hairs, several from taproot and short caudex; leaves linear or narrowly oblanceolate, reduced upward; heads solitary to several; involu- cral bracts densely spreading, hirsute and finely glandular; ligules white or pink to lavender or blue; pappus double.
EcologyDry slopes. Described from the sources of the Platte, and from the Rocky Moun- tains.
