DescriptionStem single from a taproot and short caudex; basal leaves oblanceolate, hirsute- pilose; stem leaves broadly lanceolate to ovate, acute; heads solitary; involucral bracts equal, often somewhat reflexed, pilose or long-villous; ligules blue, 10-15 mm long; pappus double; achenes copiously hirsute.
EcologyDry places on tundra and in mountains. Described from the summit of the Rocky Mountains.
