| Taxonomy notes | Var. filvum Hult., with pubescence of involucrum yellowish-brown, occurs at Kodiak. Specimens more or less intermediate between H. gracile and H. triste have been called H. gracile var. yukonénsis Pors. and H. triste var. tritiférme Zahn. |
