DescriptionMedium-sized tree, 20-35 meters tall, with drooping branches; twigs 4-angled or somewhat flattened; leaves dull green, scalelike, appressed, pointed (occasionally acicular and patent on certain branches) ; cones small, globose, gray, with 4-6 scales, each tipped with conical projection, mostly ripening in second year.
EcologyScattered in small groups in coastal forest from sea level up to about 1,000 meters, but best developed below 400 meters.
