DescriptionCoarse, light-colored, branched; stem bent zigzag when young; all leaves sub- merged, large, ligulate to lanceolate-oblong, translucent, often somewhat cordate at base; peduncles long, not thicker toward apex; fruit dark green. Stipules long, very prominent, persistent.
EcologyDeep water in lakes.
