DescriptionLoosely tufted, culm geniculate at base, smooth, shiny, usually with 2 joints; basal leaves filiform, scabrous; culm leaves short; ligules about 2 mm long; panicle ovate in mature state, with undulating, somewhat scabrous branches; spikelets yel- lowish-brown to violet, florets close together; glumes shorter than spikelet; lemma with somewhat exserted awn.
EcologyDry slopes and woods. Probably not native within area of interest. Described from Europe.
