DescriptionCulms lax, up to 120 cm tall; leaf blades flat, lax, up to 12 mm wide; panicle open, lax, often drooping, with slender branches bearing spikelets mostly toward ends; spikelets usually with 3 distal florets; first glume narrow, acuminate, second longer, broader, and abruptly pointed; lemmas with setaceous teeth and geniculate, long-exserted awn.
