DescriptionDensely tufted; culms often arcuate, shorter or somewhat longer than leaves; basal sheaths light brown; leaves setaceous, usually curved; spike ovate, dark brown; perigynia stipitate, light brown, with short, ciliate-to-scabrous, dark-brown, biden- tate beak; 2 stigmas.
EcologyDry ground in the mountains, in the St. Elias Range to at least 2,600 meters.
