DescriptionTufted, with short rhizome; culms obtuse-angled at top, terete at base; leaves grayish-green, 1-2 mm broad; head 3—4 cm long; spikes sessile with staminate flowers at tip, pistillate flowers at base; scales light brown, the lowest long, acute; perigynia dark brown, broadly ovate, highly convex on back, long-beaked, lustrous, nerveless, about 3 mm long.
