| Description | Pale green, stem from an ovoid corm, surrounded by grayish-white sheaths; leaf solitary or 2, subbasal, long-sheathing; raceme slender; flower yellowish-green, with divergent segments; lip ovate or ovate-triangular, with indistinct basal lobes and slender, pointed tip. | ||

| Taxonomy notes | Typical plant has lip uppermost in the flower, and most Alaskan specimens are of this form. Specimens from Cook Inlet, however (see map), have the lip lower- most in the flower and belong to var. brachypoda (Gray) Morris & Ames (Micro- stylis brachypoda Gray). Broken line on circumpolar map indicates range of var. brachypoda. |
