DescriptionPlant glabrous, yellowish-green; arctic specimens densely matted with short inter- nodes and ovate, small, fleshy leaves; southern specimens loosely caespitose, with larger lanceolate-oblong, somewhat acute, sessile leaves and long internodes; branches rooting at lower internodes; flowers lateral or apical, short-peduncled, single or in few-flowered, leafy cymes; sepals ovate-lanceolate, blunt, shorter than petals but longer than, or as long as, capsule; seeds smooth.
EcologyWet seashores. Described from Scandinavia.
