DescriptionFlowers and leaves from submerged, horizontal or erect rhizome; leaves ovate to obovate; flowers 4-5 (-8) cm in diameter, with quadrangular base; petals 10-12, white, sometimes pinkish or with crimson lines; stamens 12—40, the inner with broad filaments.
EcologyPonds and swamps. Described from the Lena River, Siberia.
