DescriptionTufted, low-growing; basal leaves reniform-cordate, palmately 3-7-lobed; stem pubescent with septate hairs; inflorescence 1-5-flowered; calyx tube nearly hemi- spherical to turbinate; calyx lobes ovate; petals white or reddish, rarely purple, somewhat longer than calyx lobes.
EcologyWet places, snow beds, along creeks. Described from Lapland.
