DescriptionRootstock obliquely ascending, blackish-brown; basal leaves ovate-cuneate, mostly with 7 teeth, glabrous on sides, glandular-puberulent in margin; stem leafless or with single leaf, glabrous or pubescent with septate hairs; calyx lobes ovate- triangular, purplish, reflexed in fruit; petals white or usually purplish, ovate-oblong to elliptical, somewhat longer than calyx lobes; follicles purplish-black, conical; style very short.
EcologyWet places in the mountains, to at least 1,500 meters. S. davurica described from the Dahurian Alps.
