DescriptionRootstock stout; basal leaves cordate-ovate, 3-5-lobed, the lobes coarsely crenate- dentate; sparsely pubescent below, ciliate with long glands in margin; stem gla- brous or slightly glandular; stem leaves 1-2, reduced; inflorescence thyrsoid, with lanceolate bracts; pedicels glandular; calyx lobes broadly ovate, glandular petals white, 2-3 times as long as calyx lobes, with long, slender claw and entire blade; stamens 5; capsule with slender beak; seeds with rows of spines.
EcologyMoist rocks. Described from western North America.
